These images are inspired by feelings of detachment. Of losing oneself, and finding oneself.
After the last couple years of pandemic living. The absolutes in life had become mere facades masking life’s absurdities. The artist felt increasingly detached from reality. But the more distant he became, the more he understood his personal values vs. the ideals imposed on him by society.
To be at odds with oneself.
Someday you won't recognize yourself anymore.

When you can't be bothered with a stroke of inspiration.
Like looking left and right at the same time.

These images were shot by exposing the same piece of film multiple times (with the exception of Death Whispers, which is done in photoshop). While there are limitations, this technique allows the photographer to take 2 or more pictures in 1. Adding to the stakes of each image, 50 year old 4x5 and 8x10 cameras were used. This is what gives these images their vintage and luxurious feel. All black and white images are shot, developed, and printed by the artist.
This gallery is made of scans from 4x5 and 8x10 negatives/postives. Wherever possible, full frame scans were used to show that the images were created in camera. Scratches and imperfections are kept to give an accurate impression of how the image looks if printed unretouched from a negative.
